City Year MilwauKeE

Arriving before the first bell and leaving after the last student goes home, City Year Milwaukee’s 100 AmeriCorps members (corps members) work full-time in Milwaukee Public Schools to support students in reaching their full potential. Corps members work alongside school leaders and teachers to provide support on a whole school, classroom, and individual student basis.

Day in the Life

While the exact daily schedule varies from school to school, each team follows the same initiatives and programming.

Your Role in Schools

Being a City Year corps member is a complex and challenging role. You'll have varied responsibilities ranging from one-on-one tutoring in Math and literacy to event planning. In your role, you'll work toward meeting the needs of the schools and students we serve to ensure all students are on track to reach graduation on time.

Our Partner Schools

City Year Milwaukee believes a zip code should not determine the educational opportunities a child receives. However, many students face obstacles that interfere with their ability to arrive at school ready and able to learn, and even the best teachers and administrators struggle to provide for every student's unique needs. City Year Milwaukee serves to fill this gap with 100 corps members serving in 11 elementary, middle, and high schools throughout Milwaukee.
